An ordinary cane is capable to bear 20 to 30 percent of the user’s weight, it has two main roles, to reduce weight bearing on the lower limbs and improve the mobility of its users while keeping their balance. Based on the two roles, the cane can benefit the elder in various ways. Due to the weight bearing on the lower limbs decreases, some of the leg pains of the elderly can reduce, their joints work more stable, and the original distorted gait was thus restored.
Moreover, because the elderly can balance with the cane while moving, safety is greatly enhanced, and the elderly can use the cane to go to more places or locations that were previously inaccessible, perform more daily activities, and interact with more people and things.
